Monitoring and Evaluation
The M&E Component is implemented in three levels:
- M&E for RDCs activities and processes;
- M&E for PPCD programme;
- M&E for GMoU processes.
The M&E Sub-committee according to the PPCD project plan is to support the Project Officer (M&E)
in designing and implementing the M&E component of the PPCD. The committee undertakes the
following tasks:
- Monitoring:
- a systematic process of collecting and analyzing information to track the efficiency of the project in the achievement of goal and objectives i.e. collection and analysis of information to track and compare what was planned versus what was actually done.
- regular feedback that helps track costs, personnel, implementation time, organizational development, and economic and financial results to compare what was planned to actual events
- Evaluation:
- This process determines as systematically and as objectively as possible the relevance, effectiveness, sustainability and impact of our activities in the light of a project/programme performance, focusing on the analysis of the progress made towards the achievement of the stated objectives.
- It helps us determine the degree of achievement of the objectives.
- It determines and identifies the problems associated with programme planning and implementation.
- It generates data that allows for cumulative learning which, in turn, contributes to better designed programmes, improved management and a better assessment of impact. The key words in this scenario are “lessons learned”.
- It assists in the reformulation of objectives, policies, and strategies in projects / programmes.
