The training held on May 31 and June 1, 2017 at Wesley Hotel, Benin, Edo State where 59 members were onboarded. The training was to increase participants’ understanding of the contents of the GMOU, build participants’ capacities for effective and efficient implementation of the GMOU, align them with the objectives and implementation processes of the GMOU, enhance their understanding of the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in the GMOU process and acquaint them with PPCD’s planned capacity building programmes.
Issues discussed were:History of CNL’s Community Engagement process, GMOU committees and their roles, Understanding the CEMB and the way it works, roles of EGCDF in the GMOU, structure of the EGCDF and duties of the executive council, roles of stakeholders groups, GMOU financing, finance & administration in EGCDF, ethical issues in RDC management, the PRC operations and roles of member-organization, conception and implementation of community projects, roles of EGCDF in effective communication with relevant stakeholder, the role of PPCD in GMOU etc.
The target beneficiaries were the EGCDF members and Excos. In attendance were: EGCDF (59), Govt (1), CNL (5), PPCD (3), NNF (2) and LITE Africa (1). The total number of participants was 71 (15 females and 56 males).
