Sub-Comittee

The PPCD programme has 5 sub-committees focused on the key thematic areas of Peace building, Communication & Advocacy and Mobilisation, Gender mainstreaming, Monitoring and Evaluation and Institutional Building/Livelihood which the programme sets out to improve on. Below is a breakdown of the composition and functions of the sub-committees.

Peace Building Sub-committee (PBC)

Composition

  • PPCD Program Manager (Chairman)
  • New Nigeria Foundation (NNF)
  • Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE-Africa)
  • Morgan Smart Development Foundation (MSDF)
  • Self Help and Rural Development Association (SHERDA).

Functions

  • Oversee the design and implementation of the peace building activities of the program
  • Identify linkages with other peace building initiatives and partners.
  • Review relevant data and research findings associated with peace building particularly in the Niger Delta
  • Recommend peace building strategies and activities to Planning Committee

Gender Sub-committee (GC)

Composition

  • PPCD Program Officer(Chairman)
  • New Nigeria Foundation (NNF)
  • Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE-Africa)
  • Morgan Smart Development Foundation (MSDF)
  • Self Help and Rural Development Association (SHERDA).
  • CNL Representative

Functions

  • Oversee the design and implementation of the gender issues and components of the program
  • Identify linkages with other gender programs and partner organizations
  • Ensure the collection and reporting of disaggregated gender data for all program activities
  • Review relevant data and research findings associated with gender issues

Communications Sub-committee (CC)

Composition

  • PPCD Program Officer (Chairman)
  • New Nigeria Foundation (NNF)
  • Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE-Africa)
  • Morgan Smart Development Foundation (MSDF)
  • Self Help and Rural Development Association (SHERDA).

Functions

  • Oversee the design and implementation of the communication activities of the program
  • Identify linkages with other communications initiatives and partner organizations
  • Review relevant data and research findings associated with information dissemination and awareness of key issues amongst communities
  • Identify and plan strategies for effective sensitization of the RDCs and communities on the goals and activities of the program
  • Recommend communication strategies and activities to Planning Committee

Monitoring & Evaluation Sub-committee (M&E)

Composition

  • PPCD Program Officer(Chairman)
  • New Nigeria Foundation (NNF)
  • Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE-Africa))
  • Self Help and Rural Development Association (SHERDA).
  • CNL Representative

Functions

  • Develop M&E plan and system for the program
  • Review program reports, data and other information to verify accuracy
  • Monitor program and ensure all program activities are consistent with program objectives and strategies are in accordance with the terms of this MOU
  • Coordinate program evaluations and follow up evaluation recommendations

Institutional Building and Resource Mobilisation Sub-Committee (IBRMC)

This is a newly formed committee whose duty is to provide institutional development support to RDCs. It has not yet been inaugurated.
